Take a break; we’ll take care of the rest

Having to put your loved one into a hospice care facility means the reality of the end of the near. In a lot of ways, this is even more stressful than when a situation where you’re loved one needed to receive home healthcare services because of the emotional toll it takes on you and your family.

We understand that as much as you want to remain positive, this can be impossible knowing the eventual passing of your loved one will be just around the corner. There may also be a lot of emotions you aren’t able to process right now for fear of disturbing their peace and remaining time with you.

As such, it’s best to turn to other people, especially trained professionals in hospice respite care for assistance. Doing so allows you, especially if you have been the primary caregiver of your loved one, and your family to take a break from your labor of love and come back with a renewed perspective. It will also help your loved one receive the best possible care since you’re leaving them in the hands of professionals who know exactly what they’re doing.
Please note that our respite care service at St. Joseph Hospice & Palliative Care is only provided periodically for a maximum of five days approximately every ninety days typically in a hospital, hospice unit, or long-term care facility.
